The following official bulletin was issued from the Publicity Department, Field General Headquarters, South-Western Command-
"Troops belonging to the 1st Western Division, under Captain O'Reilly, forced their way into a lodge near Lord Clonbrock's castle, Ahascragh, and captured, after a brief engagement, Keogh, leader of the irregulars in South-East Galway; Downey, of Tuam, and another prominent irregular, with 3 rifles, and 12 large bombs, 2 Webleys, and a large quantity of ammunition. In another round up near Ahascragh, Hawe, Hynes, and Kelly, irregular chief of police for that area, and Ward, a motor dispatch rider, were captured."
